Here is page #677 from a book titled "Vang og Slire" by Tore Ey. This page contains the history of the ancestors of Sigrid's maternal grandmother, Gro Østensdtr Rudi. Find her listed after her father, Øistein Einarsen and her mother, Kari Olsdtr Venningstad.
This is from the bygdebok for Vang, Oppland County, Norway. Under Bruk I, we can trace Sigrid's grandmother's family back 1612. This family originated at Helle farm in Vang and is documented living at such farms as Uppigarden, Røe, Rudi, Bustebakke, and Raabølle.
This is page 749 from "Vang og Slire" by Tore Ey. This page refers to the farm named Iørstad, or Jørstad, in Oystre Slidre. Listed after "1801", find Sigrid's maternal grandparents; Nils Knutsen and Welgier(Velgier) Olsdtr Skatrud. Here we can trace her grandfather's ancestors back to Knut Nilsson(1658-1742) and Marit Torkjelsdtr(1676-1766).
This is page 700 from the bygdebok of Bremanger. This section deals with the farm named Øvrebotten. Here, under 1731 til 1765, we find Samson Standal's GGG grandfather, Desiderius Gregoriusson. This page, and the next, tell of the next 2 generations to Sam's GG grandfather, Nils Desideriusson and his Great grandfather, Ole Nilsen, and his grandfather, Andreas Olsen. All were from Øvrebotten gard #53, bruk #1.
Page 701 of the same bygdebok shows Samson's grandfather, Andreas Olsen Øvrebotten, born in 1803. Find him listed under 1788 til 1800, number 5. You see that Andreas was born to Ole Nilsson and his 2nd wife, Brita Eriksdtr, who was from Kalsvik in Eikefjorden.
This is from the bygdebok from Forde, Sogn og Fjordane, dealing with the farm named Holsen. Under Bruk 13, Stoa, 1745-1764 find b. Johannes, born 1755. This was Johannes Olsen Holsebach. He was Samson's maternal great grandfather. is parents, Ole Olsen and Kari Johannesdtr, are listed above him. It also says they moved to bruk 15.
This is a page from the bygdebok named "Soga om Flora". Here, after 1756 +, we find a mention of the probate for Griggus Kristoforson and Gjeirtrud Hansdotter. This mentions surviving children; Desiderius Gregoriussen Indrebotnen and Anne Gregoriusdtr. Griggus and Gjeirtrud lived at a farm named Bareksten on the Island of Hovden. Griggus was my 7th Great Grandfather.
This, from the same book; Soga om Flora, tells us who Griggus' father was. After 1701, see it says Kristofor Andersson, age 62 with sons; Griggus age 20 and Olav 13. This is page 237 from the Folldal Bygdebok. This tells of the farm named Myrhaug. Here, we find Randine's paternal grandparents and her father, John Olsen. John Olsen's father, Ole Jørgensen, was from Folldal. He married Ingeborg Andersdtr in Vestre Gausdal and their 4 oldest children were born there; including John. Ole is labeled #2, and is named a "vegarbeidar", or mine worker. It says they moved back to Folldal, which is why i had trouble trying to locate John after Randine emigrated. John is #3 and tells of his marriage and children. I now know that John Olsen moved to Stanley, Wisconsin. There, they had 5 more children. The family moved to Minneapolis in 1920 and John died there on 7, October 1930. His oldest daughter, Emma(Ingeborg), was married to Thomas Thompson and lived in Minneapolis, too. I have contact with her grandchildren.
This is page 402 from the Gaular Bygdebok. Under the heading 1751 tip 1786 you find Samson Standal's maternal great great grandparents; Rognald Rasmusson and Gunhild Andersdtr living at the farm named Solheim in Viksdalen, Gaular, Sogn og Fjordane. On the next page find Sam's great grandmother, Anna Rognaldsdtr Solheim, listed under e. Anna f.(born) 1766. Anna went on to marry Johannes Olsen and they lived at Holsen in Førde, where Sam's maternal grandfather, Anders Johannessen Holsen, was born in 1807.
The text above is from the bygdebok for Ål in Buskerud, Norway. The farm, Ødelien gård number 73, bruk number 1 is where Sven Severson's maternal grandmother, Mari Bøtolvsdtr, was born. The text tells of this farm and starts with Syver Gunnarsen Ødelien in 1767. #3; Botolv Syversen, was Mari's father. He took over the farm from his father, Syver. Mari went on to marry Ola Jøgersen from Kyrkebøn in Hemsedal.
The text above is also from the bygdebok for Ål. This is farm number 59, bruk 1: Haug Søre. Here we find Ole Larssen who was from Kvinnegaard. He was Mari Bøtolvsdtr's maternal grandfather. The text says Ole obtained the deed to this farm from his father-in-law, Knut Tolleivsen in 1770.
