John Francis Schneider was born in Adams, Minnesota 24, June 1893. He was one of eleven children born to German immigrants; Peter Schneider and Barbara Krebsbach. John was more commonly referred to by his nickname, Hans. Hans attended Catholic School in Adams and the Campion Jesuit School at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. After graduating College at St. Thomas University in St. Paul, he returned to Adams, began working as a teller in the bank, and married Mary Margaret McGreevy on 29, June 1920. The couple had six children and Hans went on to own the Farmers State Bank of Elkton. Hans died on 16, December 1960 and is interred at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams, Minnesota.
Mary Margaret McGreevy was born in Adams, Minnesota on 16, November 1899 to Martin McGreevy and Mary Cummins. Mary was the youngest of two children. Her brother, Thomas, died suddenly at age 4. Mary raised six children and helped to care for her own elderly mother. She died, suddenly, on 15, March 1966 in her home. She is interred, next to Hans, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Adams, Minnesota.
