Richard, Mary Margaret, and Mary McGreevy
Here are my only Great Grandparents born in the United States. Richard C. McGreevy was born in September, 1858 in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. The son of Irish immigrants, he was the oldest of seven boys born to Martin McGreevy and Alice Gregory. The McGreevy family moved to Adams, Mower County, Minnesota in 1874. It was in this town that Richard married Mary Cummins on 3, February 1897. Richard worked as a carpenter and owned a livery stable in Adams. He died on 3, March 1934 and is interred in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Adams.
Mary Cummins was born 9, May 1865 in Monona, Clayton County, Iowa. She was the third child of nine born to Irish immigrants Patrick Cummins and Margaret Maguire. Mary and Martin had two children. Their first born child died at the age of 4. Mary experienced dementia in her later years and died in a hospital in Olmsted County, Minnesota on 14, March 1942. She is interred at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Adams, Minnesota.
