Anders Olai Olsen Standal was born at Nedre Standal on 15, August 1861. He was the oldest surviving son. On 7, June 1891 he married Marie Knudsdtr Fløholm. He resided at the husmann farms named Bakken and Lien, where he died on 30, December 1937. He is buried at Standal cemetery.

Anna was responsible for maintaining contact with her uncles in North Dakota. Anna died on 28, June 1987 and is buried at Standal, too.
